The DDPU houses AREVA Med research and production operations for producing high-purity lead-212 (212Pb). This rare metal is at the heart of promising research projects in nuclear medicine for the development of targeted alpha therapy (TAT), an innovative approach allowing a radioisotope to recognize and destroy cancer cells, while limiting the impact on nearby healthy cells.
Phase 1 included GMP research labs, collaboration space and administrative areas. The Hill & Wilkinson design-build team is responsible for master planning, process flow, equipment planning, and full design services.
