This project is a 850 lf pedestrian safety bridge connecting the third Floor of the headquarters building to the third Floor of TOPS. There is a stair and elevator near mid-point and an exit/entry point at the corner of the Data Center parking lot.
The project team assembled the bridge onsite and erected the sections into place after they were roughly 80% complete. The longest spans were approximately 120’ suspended 30’ in the air. Due to city requirements, the bridge was enclosed and air conditioned with tinted glass storefront system and spandrel panels. The towers were cast in place and wrapped in metal panels.
The bridge spans four lanes of Denton Drive, two DART train tracks, one DGNO railroad track, and two lanes of Wyman Street. The coordination required to shut down and work in (and over) the DART, DGNO and the City R.O.W. presented a very unique set of challenges for our field team.
