Hill & Wilkinson General Contractors announced today it has completed the expansion of the West Austin Campus of Austin Stone Community Church. Located at 916 South Capital of Texas Highway, the expansion consists of a 30,250-square- foot renovation of a two-story office building to include worship assembly space, a nursery, children’s classrooms and student ministry. The remaining 27,000 square feet of space in the building will be leased to corporate tenants.
“The scope of work included removing the second-floor slab-on-deck in the worship wing to accommodate high ceiling needs, as well as the addition of supplementary HVAC systems,” said Zach Sienkiel, project manager for Hill & Wilkinson.
West Campus Executive Pastor, Blake Outlaw, said the size of the building provided a unique opportunity. “We are only going to use half of the space and will lease out the other half. The lease payments from the corporate tenants will provide the funding to own and operate this building.”
Austin Stone purchased the building in 2017 along with the 5.2 acres on which it sits. The site is near upscale residential communities, the Barton Creek Greenbelt and several major retail centers, including Barton Creek Square mall.
The architect on the project is Jackson Galloway Architects.
