The Campsite at Shield Ranch

This project is built on a 6,800-acre foundation property in Travis County. The scope includes a 4,900 sf paviolion for community gatherings, 18 sleeping shelters totaling 5,900 sf, and several miles of ADA compliant decomposed granite trails throughout the property. The facilities serve low income youth for nature immersion and nature education camps and programming.

The project is completely off grid and self-sustainable. Electricity is from solar panels and battery backup system. Rainwater is collected and filtered onsite for consumption, making this the first direct rainwater consumption system in the state of Texas.

The project achieved SITES certification for sustainable and resilient land development.
