Hill & Wilkinson (H&W) is pleased to announce an important change to the way you provide proof of insurance to us. We are implementing this change to make the insurance compliance process more efficient, while improving subcontractor compliance.
Effective immediately, we will no longer require your company to provide an insurance certificate for each project. We are now requiring your company to provide one (1) annual certificate providing blanket coverage for all H&W jobs. This includes any requested endorsements and other information needed to verify compliance with our requirements. There may be a few instances when a project may require a project specific certificate or different coverage requirements, but we anticipate these will be the exception and not the norm.
Under this new process, subcontractors will be placed into categories by trade and must provide a valid certificate of insurance (and any needed endorsements) showing coverage meeting the requirements of that category. Some subcontractors may have scopes of work on certain jobs requiring additional coverages (e.g., design build scopes require proof of Professional Liability coverage in addition to standard coverages). In these cases, the subcontractor will be contacted to provide those additional coverages as well.

Please review your contract insurance exhibit if you have any questions about specific requirements.
